Anna Duggar has a lot on her plate these days.
Of course, as a mother of seven, Anna always has a lot on her plate, but we imagine she’s felt especially stressed in the weeks since Josh Duggar was transferred to federal prison.
Yes, Anna’s husband has been locked up since December, but for most of that time, he was in a county jail just a twenty minute drive from home.
Now he’s several hours away, at the Texas facility that will serve as his home for the next 12 years.
And Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution is a far cry from Fayetteville county jail in more ways than one.
Josh’s new military-style existence is getting a lot of press coverage, and Anna initially responded the same way she always responds to negative attention:
She disappeared from social media and ignored all requests for public comment.
But now that the dust has settled and Josh is as comfortable as he’s ever going to be in his new home, Anna has quietly returned to Instagram.
Of course, she’s still not commenting on Josh or the crimes that landed him behind bars.
Instead, Anna posted a rare photo of herself, alongside her sister Priscilla.
It seems that Priscilla celebrated a birthday over the holiday weekend, and Anna marked the occasion by posting the sisterly selfie above.
The photo briefly appeared in Anna’s Instagram Story but is no longer visible to her followers.
If you’re one of the 997,000 people who still follow Anna, then you know that she hasn’t posted anything permanent on her page since February.
That’s when she posted a block of text reading simply:
“There is more to the story: (See link in bio).”
The link leads users to the document that Josh’s lawyers filed appealing his conviction.
We’re not sure why Anna believes that that sort of content would change anyone’s mind.
But clearly, she’s still convinced that her husband is innocent man who’s been wrongly convicted.
The Duggars seem to mostly agree with Anna — but the family she was raised with isn’t quite so naive.
Priscilla has not spoken publicly on the subject of her scandalous brother-in-law.
But Anna’s brother, Daniel, has occasionally spoken out against Josh.
As In Touch points out, Daniel replied to a post from Jessa Duggar after Josh was caught using the website Ashley Madison to try and cheat on Anna.
“Think for a [minute] about the victims. Tell me how you would feel if someone cheated on your sister and brought so much disgrace to you and your family?” Daniel wrote at the time.
“I have told her I would pay for her to move out here with me and pay for her kids … I don’t think Josh will see that this is a big deal and be truly broken until that happens.”
Of course, when it comes to Josh’s depravity, that cheating scandal turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Perhaps the Duggars should have listened to Daniel way back in 2015.
