Late last week, 90 Day Fiance fans found themselves asking if Paul Staehle had kidnapped his own son.
An alarming missing person’s report claimed that 3-year-old Pierre was missing.
We shared Paul’s initial statements, but fans still had questions about Paul, about Karine, and about their sons.
Now, Paul has shared more, and Karine has released her own statement.
Late Friday night, we reported on 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates’ conversation with Paul Staehle.
Paul at the time clarified that Pierre and Ethan were not missing.
While Paul had been awarded custody several months ago, he said, his kids were being placed in foster care.
In fact, Paul and his mother, Mary, spent Friday night at the courthouse, trying to get the boys placed with her.
However, the court had apparently determined that Paul’s family members were unsuitable for the placement.
Emergency foster care placements are sometimes a temporary measure to ensure safety while family court reviews the facts.
Meanwhile, Karine spent much of Friday binging Stranger Things — like countless other people.
Given that she did not have custody, that is not a condemnation of her.
Besides, while Paul tends to catastrophically overshare details of his life on social media, Karine tends to share much less.
However, over the weekend, Karine took to her Instagram Story to share a rare message.
“Good night, how are you?” she began.
“Forgive me for appearing only in extreme situations,” Karine asked.
“I’m even trying to be much more present with you,” Karine admitted.
“But,” she wrote, “due to several adverse situations that have been happening.”
Karine explained that “I end up withdrawing, not for my followers, I love them.”
“I’m following all the guidelines required of me,” Karine informed her followers.
She is doing this “so that I can stay with my children.”
“However,” Karine acknowledged, “there are some websites and IG ‘stating that I’m at parties, clubs and things like that.’”
“Here things are much stricter,” Karine wrote.
“And,” she continued, “in a situation that I find myself in, they post this and can end up harming me to what I long for.”
Karine then warned: “Slander and lies are also considered a crime and will not go unpunished.”
Meanwhile, Paul Staehle spoke to TMZ over the holiday weekend about his family crisis.
He shared that he has been traveling a lot while searching for work.
While Ethan stayed with his mother, Paul brought 3-year-old Pierre with him due to the boy’s separation anxiety.
In early June, however, CPS filed a police report out of concern for Pierre’s safety.
Paul says that he is planning to do whatever it takes to regain custody of his sons.
If Paul cannot have the boys with him, he wants the court to give custody to his mother, Mary.
This is a heartbreaking situation. Unfortunately, it is not a surprising one.
90 Day Fiance fans have watched this toxic couple’s ups and downs for years.
Frankly, this was not even the worst that people imagined when they first learned that Paul and Karine were expecting.
