The Miami Dolphins improved to 5-3 with a 31-27 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were a big reason why.

Hill totaled 12 receptions for 188 yards and Waddle added eight grabs for 106 yards and two touchdowns, setting a new NFL record for combined receiving yards eight games into the season.

Hill and Waddle are also on-pace to be just the third Dolphins duo with 1,000 yards receiving or more in the same season, joining Mark Clayton and Mark Duper (1984, 1986, 1991), and Duper and Irving Fryar (1993).

It was also Hill’s fourth game with 150 or more receiving yards this season, tying Mark Duper for the most in a single season in franchise history. The 28-year-old wideout is on-pace for 146 receptions and 2,042 yards, which would set new Dolphins’ single-season records in both categories, and the NFL record for receiving yards.

The franchise record for single-season receiving yards is held by Mark Clayton (1,389) and the record for single-season receptions is held by Jarvis Landry (112).

Other milestones Hill is trending to break include most single-season receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,525) in first year with new team, both held by Stefon Diggs in 2020.
