A new projection says Taylor Swift’s smash hit new album Midnights may sell over a million copies in its first week of release.

Midnights dropped Friday and one day later Hits Daily Double wrote that based on its first day numbers, it could sell up to 1-1.2 million copies in week one.

No artist has achieved such a feat since Taylor, 32, herself dropped her score-settling album Reputation five years ago.

Taylor released the basic edition of the album at midnight before delighting her fans hours later with an expanded version called 3AM that includes seven more songs.

She shattered the Spotify record for the highest number of first-day streams and has earned rave reviews for her work.

The Pennsylvania-born songstress basked in her triumph with the critics by tweeting a link to an especially glowing review in the Guardian.

Her tweet also included a snap of her hugging her co-writer Jack Antonoff at ‘the exact moment we found out about this review.’

The five-star review rhapsodized that her ‘sophisticated 10th album indicates that she no longer feels she has to compete with her peers.’

Taylor featured one of her peers Lana Del Rey on a song called Snow On The Beach that also included a tip of the hat to one of her musical idols.

She describes herself as being ‘all for you like Janet,’ referring to the hit Janet Jackson song All For You released in 2001.

Now Janet responded by writing: ‘i LUV it’ over a Tik Tok of herself grinning and saying: ‘That’s nice,’ while listening to Snow On The Beach.

Taylor and Lana’s partnership is the latest step in a longtime friendship, as seen in a recently resurfaced snap of them in 2018.

Lana is pictured at Taylor’s American Music Awards afterparty cuddling up to her hostess, who toasts the camera with a glass of white wine.

Her starry list of co-writers on the album includes her actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn and Lenny Kravitz’ movie star daughter Zoe Kravitz.

Lavender Haze, the opening song on the album, is a tribute to her six-year romance with Joe, a British actor who has appeared in such films as The Favourite.

Other songs are more barbed, with jabs that are rumored to be aimed at Kanye West and Scooter Braun, both of whom she has feuded with for years.

In the lyrics for Vigilante S*** she describes ‘dressing for revenge’ rather than for ‘women,’ ‘men,’ ‘villains’ or ‘innocents.

Taylor also slyly claims to be ‘thick as thieves with your ex-wife,’ which some fans have interpreted as meaning Kim Kardashian.

For over a decade Taylor has carried on a simmering feud with Kanye West, and during his marriage to Kim the reality star became involved as well.

Kim filed for divorce from Kanye over a year and a half ago, though it is not known whether her split from him has triggered a rapprochement with Taylor.

One number called You’re On Your Own, Kid briefly alludes to the eating disorder Taylor has previously discussed suffering from during her early stardom.

The number is a touching love song in which Taylor reflects that Joe is one of the only people in her life who interacts with her without an ulterior motive.

Throughout the song she slams such figures as ‘industry disruptors’ and ‘smooth-talking hucksters’ and ‘the voices that implore: “You should be doing more.”‘

Meanwhile when she arrives home Joe is just ‘in the kitchen humming,’ as ‘All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing.’
