The Boston Red Sox have lost 13 of their last 17 games and could be sellers at the trade deadline, but team president Sam Kennedy said Tuesday that Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers are not on the market.

Kennedy told WEEI (via Alex Speier) that “there’s been no discussion or communication internally or externally” about dealing either one of the All-Star infielders.

Bogaerts, 29, has earned four All-Star nods at shortstop, including three in the last four seasons. While he’s under contract with the Red Sox through 2026 on a six-year, $120 million deal signed in 2019, Bogaerts can opt out after the 2022 season. Last year, ESPN’s Joon Lee reported that’s Bogaerts’ plan, and the team’s inability to re-sign the shortstop in April doesn’t lend confidence to him returning in 2023.

Devers, 25, avoided arbitration this season by agreeing to a one-year, $11.2 million deal in March. He’s eligible for arbitration again in 2023, and that appears likely. Last month, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported the Red Sox were “eons apart” with the third baseman in long-term talks this spring.

While Kennedy said there are no plans to deal Bogaerts and Devers, he didn’t mention the possibility of deals involving pitcher Nathan Eovaldi or designated hitter J.D. Martinez. Those two players were listed as trade possibilities by ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Tuesday morning.
