As of 7.57am, drivers on Junction 2 (Darenth Interchange) on the M25 face 11 miles of queues. The traffic is due to a broken down lorry and an earlier accident, adding to the usual delays at the QE2 Bridge, and A13 queues from Grays.

Kent County Council Highways said at 6.44am on Twitter there were reports of a multi vehicle RTC heading Clockwise on the M25 between J2 (A2 Darenth Interchange) and J3 (M20 Swanley Interchange).

They added at the time: “Emergency services are en-route, please use caution on the approach and expect delays.”

At 8.21am, they said delays were cleared between the two junctions.
