As we reported earlier this week, Khloe Kardashian is having a second child with Tristan Thompson, the NBA player who cheated on her numerous times during their relationship.
The news was confirmed by a rep for the former couple, who revealed that Khloe and Tristan have hired a surrogate to carry the baby, who was conceived in November.
The timing is crucial, as Tristan lost a paternity suit that in December of last year.
A Houston-based personal trainer named Maralee Nichols was able to prove in court that Tristan was the father of her child.
That means that in the time since Khloe began her tumultuous relationship with Tristan, he’s fathered two children with two other women.
Khloe has taken a lot of criticism for having another child with such a morally disreputable character.
But her defenders have pointed out that the child was conceived before news of the paternity suit went public.

And that’s where things get complicated.
On social media, there’s been a good deal of debate over when exactly Khloe found out that Tristan had impregnated yet another woman.

“I think she may have known but was in denial,” one Reddit user wrote, according to UK tabloid The Sun.
“She also made embryos right out of the gate last time (not froze the eggs),” this person continued.
“I think she didn’t know for the public but did know in private and made the tough decision to co-parent again with a sociopath because she finally found a suitable surrogate and she wanted a second child that badly (and the egg retrieval process was very hard on her last time).”
“With as many lawyer connections as Kim has.. there’s no way they didn’t know,” another redditor chimed in.
“Maralee filed a paternity suit in June of 2021 and no one who knows Kim heard about it or new? Absolutely not.”
On The Kardashians, viewers were given the impression that the family only found about the paternity suit after the news went public.
Of course, reality TV shows are rarely accurate reflections of reality.
“See that’s the thing. The Hulu show skews the timeline for dramatics but there is no way Khloe found out about the cheating the same time the general public did,” a third commenter chimed in.
Khloe has yet to respond to all the speculation surrounding the timing of the pregnancy.
Instead, a spokesperson for the reality star has issued a statement confirming that Khloe will become a mother of two any day now.

“Khloe is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing,” the rep’s statement read.
We suppose it’s important to bear in mind that regardless of when she found out about Tristan’s latest cheating scandal, Khloe is currently focused on the fact that she’s about to become a mother for the second time.
As for the question of whether or not she knew about the paternity case before she decided to have another kid with Tristan?
We suppose it’s up to the amateur sleuths of Reddit to figure that one out!
