Just days ago, Justin Bieber revealed that he has Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Type 2.
This is a disorder whose effects include facial paralysis and a loss of taste, among other symptoms.
Justin has canceled some concerts and announced plans to take a break from touring while he recovers.
Now, he has added a hopeful message about how he is coping with this health crisis.
Justin Bieber has often relied upon his devout Christian beliefs to see him through tough times.
He grew up in poverty before finding fame. As an adult, he struggled with substance abuse.
Facial paralysis is no exception.
On Monday, June 13, the Biebs took to his Instagram Story to discuss his recovery from Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
“Wanted to share a little bit of how I’ve been feelin,’” he began.
“Each day has gotten better,” Justin shared encouragingly.
“And through all of the discomfort,” Justin affirmed.
He continued: “I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me.”
Justin added: “I’m reminded he knows all of me.”
“He know the darkest parts of me,” Justin wrote, “that I want no one to know about.”
“And he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms,” he expressed.
Justin shared: “This perspective has give me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing.”
If you haven’t guessed what Justin means, he spells it out.
“I know this storm will pass,” Justin affirmed in his Instagram Story post.
“But,” he concluded, “in the meantime Jesus is with me.”
Justin had, just days earlier, explained that he was diagnosed with this uncommon neurological syndrome.
One side of his face was unable to move, something that he displayed for his followers.
The condition is caused by a virus — the same type of virus that causes chicken pox and shingles.
Unfortunately, Justin’s Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis has caused a stir of dangerous disinformation.
A combination of his Ramsay Hunt syndrome and Hailey Baldwin’s scary stroke have led to conspiracy theories.
One twisted social media post accused the pair of faking these illnesses as a “psyop” for some nefarious scheme.
The reality is that people get sick.
In fact, it is possible that both Justin and Hailey’s health struggles are COVID-related.
Fortunately, the Biebers have the resources to receive first-rate healthcare.
But wealth does not make Justin or Hailey immune to disease.
Justin likely feels this impacting his mental health, as is so often the case with physical ailments.
We continue to wish him a speedy and full recovery.
