It’s not a red issue, a blue issue’: Jill Biden appears on Newsmax to tout Joe’s Cancer Moonshot and talk bipartisanship – just hours after right-wing station suggested God has abandoned president amid ‘many and manifest failures’

  • Jill Biden appeared on the conservative network Newsmax to promote her husband’s Cancer Moonshot program
  • The first lady spoke with Newsmax host Nancy Brinker about the White House’s initiative, characterizing it as an a-political crisis
  • She talked about how the death of the president’s son Beau from a brain tumor shook her faith in God
  • Just hours before making those comments, Newsmax writer Craig Shirley published a piece titled ‘Does God Dislike Joe Biden?’
  • In the piece, Shirley quoted a number of fire and brimstone passages from the Bible,  postulating that Biden’s bad luck might be brought on by a higher power

Jill Biden appeared on Newsmax to promote her husband’s Cancer Moonshot program, just hours after the conservative outlet published a piece exploring whether God disliked her husband.

The first lady spoke with Nancy Brinker, who hosts a show on Newsmax and also founded the breast cancer organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

During the interview Jill discussed the President’s initiative to ambitiously reduce deaths caused by cancer, saying ‘It’s not a red issue, a blue issue. Cancer affects every American.’

But just hours earlier, Newsmax took a decidedly partisan approach to the President and suggested the Christian God himself had abandoned Biden and damned him to a term of misfortunes and missteps.

During her interview on Newsmax, the first lady discussed how the death of the President’s son Beau from a brain tumor seven years ago was an inspiration for his ambitious cancer program.

She also said Beau’s death shook her own religious faith.

‘I didn’t give up hope, ever, until he took his last breath,’ she said. When that happened, ‘I had this empty, angry feeling.’

Earlier in the day writer Craig Shirley published a piece titled ‘Does God Dislike Joe Biden?’ on Newsmax.

‘Is this a man that God dislikes or are the ills that follow him intentionally designed by Biden and his abettors to bring about the demise of America,’ Shirley asked in his piece, after comparing the president’s term to a number of fire and brimstone passages from the bible.

‘The Bible tells of others disliked by God,’ Shirley wrote, before quoting the good book.

”Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.”

‘And we know what happened to Cain after he murdered Abel. He was cast out as he should have been.’ he added.

‘Much indeed seems almost supernatural — beyond the scope of normal human behavior,’ Shirley wrote of Biden’s shortcomings.

‘As if these problems are willed upon Biden by a force greater that our comprehension.’

Newsmax is well known for its excoriations of Biden and his fellow Democrats.

The outlet is even facing a lawsuit for broadcasting false claims about voter manipulation, which is has denied any wrong doing in.

Despite their political differences, Jill and Newsmax’s Brinker have known each other for years, and previously teamed up in Palm Beach, Florida, for a June 23 event on cancer screening.
