New York Jets’ explosive rookie running back left Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with what the team fears could be a severe leg injury.
After the game, Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that Hall likely suffered an ACL injury and that the initial diagnosis was “not good.”
While preliminary tests indicate a serious knee injury for Hall, he’ll go through more tests on Monday to determine the severity.
Hall was injured Sunday in the second quarter on a seemingly innocuous play. After receiving a pitch in the backfield, Hall ran for a few yards before running into several Broncos defenders.
Hall had to be helped off the field and into the blue medical tent before being carted off to the locker room.
Before exiting the game, Hall was having another impressive outing. Midway through the first quarter, Hall broke off a 62-yard touchdown run, finishing the day with 73 yards and a score.
Through seven games, Hall has made his case for rookie of the year. The 21-year-old is averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the year, rushing for 463 yards and four touchdowns.
