Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell’s youngest sibling Christian, 18, is shot and killed in Chicago

The 18-year-old brother of a Fox News political analyst was shot and killed in Chicago on Friday – one of at least 23 people shot this weekend, including a five-month-old girl fatally injured.

Gianno Caldwell, who has worked at Fox since 2017, announced on Saturday that his brother had been killed.

‘Devastating news: Yesterday was legitimately the worst day of my existence,’ he wrote. 

‘I received a call informing me that my teenage baby brother Christian was murdered on the south side of Chicago yesterday morning. 

‘After all the things my family has been through never could I have imagined my baby brother’s life would be stolen from him. Please keep my family in your prayers.’

Caldwell has been a Fox News analyst since 2017

Chicago police department told DailyMail.com that an 18-year-old man had been shot on the 11400 block of S. Vincennes Ave, in the south side of the city.

They said that a 25-year-old woman was outside of a residence with two men, aged 18 and 31, at 2:06am. 

A gunman arrived, and shot all three. The woman was shot in the leg, and both men were shot in the torso.

The gunman then ‘entered a black sedan and fled the scene,’ police said. There have been no arrests.

All three were taken to Christ Hospital, where the 31-year-old remains in a critical condition, and the woman in fair condition.

Christian was pronounced dead.

‘What I’m looking for right now is details from the police to discover who it was that murdered my brother,’ said Caldwell.

He told Fox News Digital: ‘My baby brother never had a chance.’

Caldwell is one of nine, raised by their grandmother due to their mother being addicted to crack cocaine.

He said they were ‘really, really poor’ as children.

Christian, the youngest of the nine, loved sports and travel, Caldwell said. 

‘I was like his dad because he never knew his father,’ he explained. 

‘So my three youngest little brothers, I considered — they were my kids. Those are my sons, so I took care of them. I financially supported them and still do my family.’

He said they were all aware of the violence in their city: some of his siblings have been witnesses to violent crimes, including one who was shot at in 2017, and ‘his best friend died in his arms.’ 

He said he wants his brother’s killer to search his conscience.

‘Then one day, whenever they’re out of jail — if it’s not for life — maybe they can turn their lives around and give hope to other young men if there is any hope of rehabilitating them,’ Caldwell said. 

‘I would never want to see any street justice or violence against the people who even murdered my little brother. 

‘But I do want them brought to justice. 

‘And, as a Christian who believes in forgiveness, who believes that there is a second path for people who could do something like this, all I want from my little brother, Christian, is justice. That’s it.’
