EMILY PRESCOTT: Singer Tom Walker who was accompanied on piano by Duchess of Cambridge at Westminster Abbey says they still make a good musical duo… even though his Partygate protest song went viral and she’s destined to be politically neutral

He is a singer going viral for his protest song criticising Partygate and she is the future Queen destined to political neutrality, but Tom Walker tells me that he and the Duchess of Cambridge still make a good musical duo.

In December they performed together at Westminster Abbey, and Tom says they had a ‘few laughing moments in rehearsal’ as Kate played the piano to his vocals. 

The Scottish singer also says he would love to collaborate more in the future. 

Tom works with mental health charity Mind and says how pleased he is that the Duchess is trying to break the stigma around addiction.

Her 90th birthday is fast approaching and Dame Sheila Hancock says she’s in no mood to celebrate – but fears her three daughters will defy her and throw a surprise party anyway.

‘I’m not a party person and when you get to my age, it’s very difficult to hear in a crowded place,’ she told me at Prospect’s summer get-together last week.

The actress already has a full house – as she’s suffering an infestation of mice that outsmart the expensive traps she bought to catch them humanely.

However, they are determined to revamp the production before it hits New York, and I hear they’ll be working hard to make the jokes more appealing to the American audience. 

A source in the Big Apple tells me: ‘There is a lot of pressure to get this version perfect, another flop is unthinkable.’
