Woman, 29, ‘confesses’ to stealing her mother’s dog and setting it on fire during ‘ritual sacrifice’ at their home

A Missouri woman has reportedly admitted to police that she stole and strangled a dog before burning its body in a ‘sacrifice’.

Brianna Lynn Lingo, 29, was charged with multiple felonies on June 9 after she allegedly confessed to killing the dog.

After the horrific deed, Lingo is said to have put the dog’s body in a burn pit, in what police described as a ‘ritual’.

Lingo’s mother came home to discover what had happened to her beloved pet, and immediately called 911. 

Police found the mixed terrier breed half burned in the 300 bloc of Wightman St, Moberly.

‘To my knowledge, we haven’t had any reports like this in Moberly that I can recollect, anyways this was the first one of those.

‘Of course, we investigated different animal abuse cases over the years but never one to this extent that I’m aware of,’ Troy Link, Moberly’s chief of police, told ABC17 News.

Lingo is in custody, with a $15,000 bond and is due back in court on June 21 for a bond hearing.

Her criminal history revealed no prior animal abuse charges.
