Tua Tagovailoa on Dolphins’ links to Tom Brady: ‘I’m still here … that’s all noise at this point’

It’s already been a challenging 2022 season for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, even with the season opener still weeks away.

Earlier this month, the Dolphins were docked two draft picks by the NFL for violating tampering rules involving “impermissible communications” with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and his agent.

Brady or not, knowing his current employer was looking elsewhere to fill his position had to drum up some feelings for Tagovailoa.

However, after the Dolphins and Buccaneers shared the field for a joint practice on Wednesday, Tagovailoa didn’t seem bothered by the Brady buzz.

“Yeah, I mean, I’m still here,” Tagovailoa told reporters when asked about the Dolphins’ interest in Brady, via ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. “To me, that’s all noise at this point.”

With the Dolphins and Buccaneers sharing the same field on Wednesday, the two quarterbacks did have a conversation, according to Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa didn’t divulge much, saying he and Brady discussed their offseasons and golf. The Dolphins signal-caller did admit that Brady shared some wisdom with him but told the media he’d keep it “between me and Tom.”

Tagovailoa and the Dolphins will open up their preseason schedule on Saturday against the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium, but Brady isn’t scheduled to see any snaps.
