Adventurous travellers are raving about an incredible beach with a snow-white shore filled with tiny shells and turquoise waters stretching as far as the eye can see.
The aptly named Shell Beach is nestled in Western Australia’s Francois Peron National Park near Denham on the Shark Bay world heritage-listed coastline, an eight hour drive north of Perth.
With millions of tiny cockle shells covering the shore, it is one of two beaches like it in the world made up entirely of shells.

Shell Beach’s shallow crystal clear waters stretch metres from the shore line and are very high in salt making it easy for swimmers to float.
The inlet has a high population of Fragum cockles that have no natural predators so their shells wash up eventually on the shore creating the unique natural phenomenon.
Visitors have been enjoying the area’s year-round summer weather with temperatures sitting in the mid to low twenties even in the peak of winter.
