Former NFL running back Todd Gurley is calling it a career.

The 28-year-old  was last seen on an NFL field during the 2020 season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Prior to that, he spent five seasons with the Rams organization, where Sean McVay made him a focal point of the offense. He then had his best years in 2017 & 2018, leading the league in touchdowns twice and earning the 2017 AP Offensive Player of the Year Award. Gurley was also a big part of the Rams’ run to Super Bowl XXXVI, where they would lose to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots by a score of 13-3. After that, he spent one more injury-plagued season in L.A. before being released. He then joined the aforementioned Falcons for one season. Gurley did not play anywhere in 2021, and has now confirmed that he’s done with professional football. His career is just the latest reminder that running backs, no matter how talented, do not have long shelf lives and can often find themselves on the outside looking in before they turn 30.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Today, in honor of Gurley’s prime years, we want to see how many of the NFL leaders in touchdowns since 2000 you can name in five minutes.

Good luck!
