The name was plucked from Swift’s lyrics: ‘I see the great escape, so long, Daisy May / I picked the petals, he loves me not / Something different bloomed, writing in my room / I play my songs in the parking lot.’

This comes two years after she shared Lively and Reynolds’ daughter’s name in her emotional track, Betty.

On the same album, Folklore, the 11-time Grammy winner also featured the names of the pair’s other children James, seven, and Inez, six, in the hit.

At the time, she confirmed she ‘named all the characters in this story after’ her ‘friend’s kids.’

Additionally, Swift gave fans a deeper insight about the meaning behind her song, which is told from a male perspective about a teenage boy attempting to apologize to Betty, who he cheated on.

‘He lost the love of his life, basically, and doesn’t understand how to get it back. I think we all have these situations in our lives where we learn to really, really give a heartfelt apology for the first time,’ the Cardigan singer explained.

She added: ‘Everyone makes mistakes, everybody really messes up sometimes.’

‘This is a song that I wrote from the perspective of a 17-year-old boy. And I’ve always loved that in music you can kind of slip into different identifies and you can sing from other people’s perspectives, and that’s what I did in this one,’ the hitmaker added.

Previously, Swift sampled her pal’s eldest on her single, Gorgeous, back in 2017.
