Late last week, 90 Day Fiance fans were alarmed at reports that Paul Staehle had kidnapped his son.
Paul then opened up, offering an explanation of why he was out of state with 3-year-old Pierre.
He shared new information, and Karine Martins addressed her followers without directly commenting on the “kidnapping.”
We are all relieved to know that Pierre is safe. Paul returned home, and CPS took his son into custody.
In June, an alarming public bulletin listed 3-year-old Pierre Staehle as a missing child.
He was, the announcement alleged, last seen in the company of his father, 90 Day Fiance alum Paul Staehle.
While Paul has a history of erratic behavior, poor choices, and crimes, fans wanted to get to the bottom of this.
As we reported late Friday night, Paul spoke to 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates.
Though some details remained unclear, Paul and his mother, Mary, were working to get both of his sons placed with her temporarily.
Paul shared that Karine had lost custody late last year, and Paul had retained custody until last month.
Last month, CPS was unable to locate Pierre — who was traveling with Paul as he searched for work.
While Ethan was with Mary, Paul explained that Pierre had separation anxiety, so they stayed together.
Traveling between states is a tricky business if you are in a complicated custody situation, as Paul has now discovered.
Paul’s entire family is apparently unfit to have custody of Pierre and Ethan — according to authorities.
Unfortunately, this means that the boys’ emergency foster care placement will be with strangers.
We can only speculate as to the court’s reasoning.
Meanwhile, Paul claimed over the weekend that Karine had accused him of trying to murder her.
Karine has made no such statement to the public.
She has been posting normally, apparently determined to follow rules so that she can see her children again.
Now, Paul Staehle spoke to TMZ, revealing that he returned safely to Louisville, Kentucky with Pierre over the weekend.
Paul turned Pierre over to his parents to then surrender to CPS.
According to Paul, this was because he did not wish to deal with the “drama” of the exchange.
Right now, Paul’s parents are planning to fight for custody of both of their grandsons.
Karine clearly remains hopeful that she will be able to see her boys again in the near future.
This is a messy situation.
