Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges’ wife has posted horrific images of injuries all over her body and said she was ‘choked until I went to sleep’, a day after her NBA star husband turned himself into police on a domestic violence charge.

Mychelle Johnson said she could not ‘be silent anymore’ as she posted a series of images on Instagram showing bruises and scratches over her hands, back, legs and face.

‘I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life,’ Johnson, who has two young children with Bridges, wrote on Thursday.

Along with the photos showing the injuries, Johnson also posted a medical document showing that on Tuesday she had been strangled, suffered brain concussion and a bruised rib. The diagnosis read: ‘Adult victim of physical abuse by male partner’.

Bridges fled the scene before police could arrive, but turned himself in on Wednesday. He was charged with felony domestic violence and released on $130,000 bail.

Johnson said on Thursday she had suffered a fractured nose, wrist, torn eardrum, and torn muscles in her neck ‘from being chocked until I went to sleep’.

She posted images showing her swollen nose, bruises on her fingers, legs and back, as well as a bloodied eardrum.

Johnson, who has two young children with Bridges, wrote: ‘I hate that it has come to this but I can’t be silent anymore. I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life.

‘I have nothing to prove to the world, but I won’t allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I’m not.

‘I won’t allow the people around him to continue to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person. It’s unethical, it’s immoral, it’s truly sick.’

She added: ‘It hurts my heart because I’ve always had hope, and so much love and as scary as this is for me to do it’s time I stand up for myself.

‘I won’t be silent to protect others anymore because I value myself and my kids more than anyone’s ‘image’… a fracture nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choked until i went to sleep and a severe concussion.’

Johnson continued: ‘I don’t need sympathy, I just don’t want this happening to anyone else, I just want this person to get help, my kids deserve better.

‘That’s all I want. It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, most importantly I’m scared and hurting for my kids who were witness to everything.’

Johnson and Bridges first started dating in 2016 and have two young children together. There are married, according to reports, although their wedding date is not known to the public.

The 12th pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, Bridges has played four seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, but is set to become a free agent at 6pm on Thursday.

NBA teams are allowed to begin negotiating with free agents on Friday, but are not permitted to sign players until 12:01pm ET on July 6.

Bridges turned himself into police on Wednesday – the same day the Hornets announced they had extended a qualifying offer to the former Michigan State star.

Bridges has endured a tumultuous few months.

In April, after being ejected from a game in Atlanta for cursing at officials, Bridges attempted to throw his mouth guard at a male heckler, but instead accidentally hit a 16-year-old female fan in the face.

Bridges was apologetic when addressing the media later.

‘I was aiming for the guy that was screaming at me and it hit a little girl,’ Bridges said. ‘So that’s definitely unacceptable on my part and I take full responsibility.

‘That’s out of character for me. You’ve been around me; I don’t act like that or ever flash out like that. So that was definitely wrong.’

Earlier this month, Bridges posted a picture on social media of a purple drink and what looked like a joint in his hand. His followers quickly accused him of drinking lean, a concoction that typically includes cough syrup with codeine and promethazine as well as a soft drink or alcohol.

He later denied the accusation, saying it was ‘pink lemonade.’
