Conservatives in the United Kingdom have dumped their prime minister. Democrats in the U.S. must be jealous. They would throw Joe Biden over the rail too — if they could.

For Americans watching from home, here’s the U.K.-politics cliff notes.

Prime Minister Liz Truss lasted a disastrously short 44 days in office, the briefest stint of any prime minister in U.K. history. And the world thinks American politics are embarrassing.

In American political terminology, she lasted 4.1 ‘Scaramucci’s.’

That’s Anthony Scaramucci, of course. He comically survived less than two weeks as President Donald Trump’s press secretary before he got the hook.

In a nutshell, Truss pushed a low-tax, high-spending agenda. The markets were spooked and the British pound plummeted.

Truss folded – as they say – like a cheap suit. She walked back her plan and fired her advisors, but that didn’t help.

On Wednesday evening, her party made clear that they have no confidence in her leadership and she resigned.

What didn’t make headlines is that the Democratic party has staged its own stunning ‘no confidence’ vote in President Joe Biden. And the president is feeling very sensitive about it.

Let me explain… obviously, the UK and US electoral systems are different.

In the US, the people elect the president and then — for better or for worse – we’re stuck with him for 4 years.

But halfway through the president’s term, there’s something called the midterms. They’re important.

The midterms can make or break a presidency and this year they’re particularly important, as Republicans are poised to take control of the House and potentially the Senate.

You’d think that Biden would be hard at work on the campaign trail, shaking hands and kissing babies in an attempt to excite Democratic voters and pull his candidates across the finish line.

But Joe Biden is nowhere to be seen. Hmm… why is that?

Even the folks at the New York Times were struck by this.

‘Mr. Biden has not held a campaign rally since before Labor Day, even as the future of his agenda and his own political career are at stake in the midterm elections,’ the NYTimes wrote.

‘… It is a remarkably low-key campaign effort by a president facing what could be among the biggest rebukes of his political life.’

Instead, former President Obama is campaigning in Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee and Las Vegas – cities in critical swing states that Democrats desperately want to hold on to.

On Thursday, Biden is in Pennsylvania to give a helping hand to Senate candidate John Fetterman. But there won’t be a big rally showing Biden and Fetterman hugging in front of a huge crowd of supporters.

Biden will give a speech on infrastructure and then talk to invited guests in a closed-door reception. Exciting!

A reporter asked Biden about this abnormal midterm campaign schedule as he left the White House on Thursday, and he didn’t like it one bit.

The reporter said, ‘There haven’t been that many candidates campaigning with you…’ before Biden cut her off.

‘That’s not true,’ he snapped. ‘There have been 15. Count kid, count.’

Touchy, touchy.

Look, we all know that President Biden is unpopular, very unpopular. But he’s no more unpopular than Obama or Trump where around this time in their presidencies.

Yet, as the New York Times notes, Trump held 26 rallies in October 2018 and Obama held 16 campaign rallies in October 2010.

It’s clear what’s going on here.

Biden is getting the Liz Truss-treatment. Democrats have no faith in him as the leader of their party. In fact, they want to stay as far away from him as possible.

What is it about Biden that Democrats can’t stomach? Well, there are a few things.

One, not even his staff feel confident in letting him speak off-the-cuff or off-the-teleprompter for that matter.

Remember when a staffer in an Easter bunny costume ushered him away from a crowd at the White House? Or when we called out a deceased congresswoman at a public event?

His gaffes are getting weirder and worse.

We can’t look away and pretend like nothing is wrong when he says his beloved son died in Iraq, when Beau died from cancer at home in America.

Two, President Biden and his administration have made clear that they hate half the country.

Remember his doomsday speech in Philadelphia?

That’s not a great closing message when you’re trying to win over persuadable voters.

Biden has made clear just how dangerous and repulsive he thinks ‘MAGA Republicans’ are.

Except, Biden himself won the 2020 election in part because he was able to reach blue-collar Americans, who voted for Obama in 2012 but went for Trump in 2016.

There are a lot of these kinds of voters in places like Pennsylvania, Ohio Georgia.

Now, Biden has completely thrown any possibility of that out the window.

What is the point of sending him into a swing state? The potential for an embarrassing situation is quite high.

Finally, he’s proven himself completely oblivious to the concerns of the average American voter.

‘Our economy is strong as hell,’ he told reporters while chowing down on an ice cream cone in Oregon last week. What?

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is warning Americans to ‘batten down the hatches,’ as he and nearly every U.S. business leaders warns that the nation is careening toward recession.

Inflation is totally out of control and wages aren’t keeping up with rising costs. A lower percentage of Americans are in the workforce today than before the pandemic. Mortgage rates are skyrocketing, and the housing markets is plummeting. The stock market is a rollercoaster ride from hell and Americans are watching their 401ks wither away, but chocolate chip is delicious.

Instead of facing the harsh, cruel reality and coming up with logical solutions, Biden and his White House press secretary ‘Baghdad Bob’ keep spinning instead of being straight with the American public.

Democrats can’t dump their president as fast as the UK conservatives can dump a prime minister, but it’s not for lack of trying.

If the upcoming midterm elections are as cataclysmic for Biden and Democrats as is being speculated, it will signal the final nail in the coffin for Biden’s leadership. The piranhas are sure to come out, just like they did for Liz Truss.

The media and politics give as fast as they takeaway and no one is going to want to be associated with a presidency that is seen as a historic failure and on the decline. Politicians will do more to save their party from within and distance themselves from Biden as much as possible. The press will start being more aggressive and stop covering for his gaffes. Progressive Democrats will revel in the schadenfreude as they blame Biden for not being progressive enough.

Oh boy, it’ll be ugly. If you want a friend in politics, get a dog.

Actually, it seems like Liz Truss took the easy way out. Her political death was quick. Biden’s got another two years of this.
