Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has hired conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos to be an intern in her office.

The Daily Beast first reported the hiring of 37-year-old Brit, who posted a picture of his Congressional intern badge on top of a Louis Vuitton bag to the social media site Telegram.

Yiannopoulos resigned from his job at Breitbart News, lost a book deal and was kicked off the speaking schedule at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2017 after making remarks suggesting sex between men and boys was a good thing.

He later tried to clarify the remarks, calling them ‘simply wrong,’ and said he was sexually abused as a child.

Since then Yiannopoulos hasn’t had much of a national platform, though came out last year as ‘ex-gay.’

‘So I have an intern that was raped by a priest as a young teen, was gay, has offended everyone at some point, turned his life back to Jesus and Church, and changed his life,’ Greene told DailyMail.com. ‘Great story!’

She made a nearly identical statement to The Daily Beast, though added a transphobic remark when talking to the Mail: ‘If you don’t want to write that, the press can go across the hall and interview Congresswoman Marie Newman on how to turn your son into a woman,’ Greene said.

Newman, a Democrat from Illinois, has a transgender daughter. Last year, Newman trolled Greene by displaying a transgender flag outside her office, after the Georgia Republican spoke out against the Equality Act, saying it would force girls into sports and locker rooms with ‘biological’ men.

On Telegram, Yiannopoulos said he wasn’t being paid to work for Greene, one of the most controversial members of the Republican Party.

‘I’ve finally been persuaded out of retirement. But my skills are a bit rusty, so the best role I could land was an unpaid internship with a friend. Pray for me!’ he wrote. ‘Mummy always said I’d end up in government.’

Yiannopoulos is seemingly working as a summer intern as his badge expires in August.

Generally speaking, Congressional internships are for students and recent graduates.

At the April press conference, Greene gave Yiannopoulos a shout-out as she spoke to reporters about how she wanted to meet with Elon Musk with the hopes of getting her personal Twitter account back.

‘I don’t know Mr. Musk, but I do invite him to come talk with me in Washington, D.C. I would be happy to put together a roundtable of all the most brilliant people who have been unjustly banned from Twitter and he can see for himself the urgent necessity of doing right by them,’ Greene said. ‘Which we all hope he will as he has stated he believes in free speech.

Greene said to the crowd: ‘We don’t need to be told what we can and can’t say online by nutcases in San Francisco or other places.’

DailyMail.com asked the Georgia congresswoman who she would invite to said roundtable.

‘There would be a lot of people I’d love to invite to this roundtable. I see someone standing behind you right there – Milo Yiannopoulos – I think he’d be a great person to have there,’ she said.

Yiannopoulos was banned from Twitter in 2016 over his engagement in the racist and targeted abuse of comedian Leslie Jones, who is black.

‘Alex Jones would be another person,’ Greene went on.

Jones was banned from Twitter in 2018, with the company saying he engaged in ‘abusive behavior.’

He’s widely known as a right-wing conspiracy theorist.

‘We’ll put together a great list of people who have been just almost deleted from public life due to this type of censorhip and I think Elon Musk will enjoy talking to them,’ Greene said.
