As we reported yesterday, Jill Duggar has welcomed her third child, a son named Frederick.
Freddy entered the world on July 7, but Jill understandably wanted to enjoy a few days of privacy before she shared her joyous news with fans.
And now, she might be wishing she had kept the announcement to herself a little while longer.
That’s because fans and critics alike are picking apart the details of Jill’s birth plan, and many have noticed that it doesn’t align with the pointless rules she was raised with.
Jill’s parents, of course, have strong views about the proper way to give birth, just like they have strong views about the proper way to do literally everything.
The Duggars don’t trust hospitals, the same way that they don’t trust schools, law enforcement, or any other institution.
Jim Bob and Michelle believe that birth is a natural process that should involve no one other than mother, infant, and God.
So you can imagine their surprise upon learning that Jill not only gave birth in a hospital, she welcomed her child via a planned C-section.
Now, Jill welcomed her middle son, Samuel, via C-section, but that was an emergency situation in which she easily could’ve died.
So we suppose her parents forgave her for that one.
Although interestingly, it seems that she never forgave them.
One fan explained the complexities of Jill’s previous pregnancy on Reddit:
“I don’t think Jill got the grows-babies-easily gene,” this person wrote, according to UK tabloid The Sun.
“The emergency c-section with Samuel is literally part of the reason why things went back with JB&M…” the commenter continued.
“They needed money to pay the hospital, and JB wouldn’t help, and that’s when they found out about how JB had been keeping all the TLC money for himself.”
Yes, Jill’s previous C-section was the beginning of the end for her relationship with her parents.
As you’re probably aware, Jill and husband Derick Dillard cut ties with Jim Bob and Michelle back in 2019.
They had many reasons for doing so, several of which involved money.
Yes, Jill and Derick were less than thrilled with the fact that Jim Bob had kept all of the money his kids earned from their years on TV, and they let him know as much.
JB apparently thought that everything would be fine as long as he continued to pay allowances to his theft victims whenever worthy expenses arose.
(And no, a hospital bill from giving birth apparently does not meet Jim Bob’s definition of a worthy expense.)
The events of the past few years make it abundantly obvious that Jill and Derick made the right call, but the decision was probably still a painful one for Jill.
But hopefully, Jill and Derick are putting all of that behind them as they celebrate the arrival of their new bundle of joy.
Jill made the announcement of Freddy’s arrival on Instagram this week.
“Freddy” Frederick Michael Dillard is here! He was born 7/7/2022 at 5:16pm weighing 7lbs. 6oz. and is 20 inches long,” she wrote.
“Frederick means ‘Peaceful Ruler’ and Michael means ‘Gift from God,’” Jill continued.
Jill probably wishes that she’d grown up under the care of a peaceful ruler instead of the tyrant who raised her.
Thankfully, her new life is a gift from God.
