It was a rough homecoming to Philadelphia on Sunday night as she was mercilessly booed by sections of the crowd at the NFL game between the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys.
Taking to the field as a honorary captain to promote husband Joe’s Cancer Moonshot initiative, the First Lady was greeted to chants of ‘let’s go Brandon’ – a phrase commonly used to mock the president by the right.
Biden, 71, walked alongside cancer patients and their families and the booing and chanting was noted by social media.

Some fans even accused the NFL and the Eagles of doctoring audio and video from the game to remove the booing, including a clip posted to their social media account Sunday.
The clip posted shows Dr. Biden leading Eagles fans in a chant alongside cancer survivors who had benefitted from the Cancer Moonshot Initiative.
Some Eagle-eyed social media users who were at the game, however, said that the crowd was really booing at the first lady and chanting ‘f**k Joe Biden.’
The authenticity of that video has not been proven, though.
Other Eagles fans said that it must have been a difficult night for the first lady who was attending the home game for philanthropic purposes.
‘Jill Biden came out to flip the coin at the Philadelphia Eagles game, and was booed relentlessly in the town she grew up in,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘A stadium full of Eagles fans booed Jill Biden tonight, they must all be from the 5 surrounding counties,’ wrote another person on social media Monday.
The Twitter user was likely referencing President Joe Biden’s loss of the five counties outside of Philadelphia County in the 2020 Election.
Biden pulled Philadelphia County, a heavily Democratic leaning area, with 62.9 percent of the vote. Neighboring counties also swung for the current president in the 2020 election, helping to seal a victory over former President Donald Trump.
The President did lose York, Berks, Lancaster, Schuylkill, and Carbon counties, however, which are all located between Harrisburg, Allentown, and Philadelphia.

In social media posts, the first lady thanked the Eagles and the crowd for the invite.
Biden also said she was grateful for the opportunity to spread the message about the program.
‘It’s a special night for this Philly girl — I get to cheer on my Eagles alongside these brave cancer survivors and their families. Thank you for raising awareness through Crucial Catch. We all have a role to play in ending cancer as we know it.’

According to its website, the Cancer Moonshot Initiative is an organization that focuses on funding groundbreaking research and treatments.
‘By focusing on areas of cancer research that are most likely to benefit patients as a result of new investment, the Cancer Moonshot has brought together a large community of patients, advocates, researchers, and clinicians who are dedicated to advancing research to improve the lives of people with cancer, those at risk, and their loved ones.’
In a video posted by the first lady just days ago to Twitter, she explained the organization’s purpose and goals.
‘Patient navigators help guide and support patients at every step along the way,’ Dr. Biden wrote.
