Jibri Bell Admits He’s Not Ready to Marry Miona on 90 Day Fiance

Since this season of 90 Day Fiance began, it has been clear that Jibri and Miona Bell are disasters.

Lovable disasters? Yes. Maybe even compatible.

Or maybe not.

In this clip, Jibri’s mom sits down with him to ask if he’s really happy with Miona. His answer is painfully honest.

90 Day Fiance Season 9 released a sneak peek ahead of Episode 10.

Jibri Bell’s mother, Mahala, is audibly concerned about her son, and so is his stepdad, Brian.

They have seen what he’s like when he’s happy. This is something else.

She tells the camera that she feels like Miona is being “fake” by telling Jibri this instead of her, mirroring Miona’s concern about her. In all seriousness, it makes sense for Miona to take things up with Jibri, just as it makes sense for Jibri’s parents to bite their tongues about Miona in the interests of politeness.

Mahala can tell that something is up with Jibri.

He seems more stressed and less vibrant and excited than usual.

Jibri could have blamed this on conflict with Daveed, but the truth is more serious than that.

What could have been a not-so-playful exchange of light blows turns into something worse as Jibri picks up Daveed and slams him into the ground.

Jibri expresses how he feels like the “walls” are closing in on him.

“And I feel like I have to choose a door to escape,” he adds.

This sense of impending doom is not encouraging, or what you want to hear from a man planning his wedding.

Brian straight-up asks his stepson if the time limit imposed by his visa is a deciding factor.

Visas and immigration paperwork are timely, inconvenient things and are forcing Jibri and Miona to marry on a certain schedule.

Given the chance, would Jibri still marry Miona?

“No,” Jibri freely admits on camera, knowing that Miona will one day watch 90 Day Fiance.

“I would wait ’till we had more time and to figure things out,” he confesses.

“But,” Jibri emphasizes, “that’s hypothetically speaking.”

But they do have some conflicts
Again, they can’t agree on wedding plans or on how long to stay in South Dakota. Miona is initially reluctant to fully unpack, so convinced that they’ll be leaving this place sooner rather than later, but Jibri encourages her to unpack now. It’s not that he wants to stay where they are forever, but he wants to save money.

“I don’t have that time,” Jibri Bell acknowledges.

Brian agrees, telling him that he’d love to see them postpone the wedding, 90 Day Fiance or no 90 Day Fiance.

If they took six months or even a year to re-evaluate things, they could be more certain of their choices.

Dinner is served
Jibri’s parents are diplomatic about it, but it’s bad. Honestly, and I say this as a huge fan of certain frozen meals (not something that you make for other people, of course), any kind of pasta alfredo is the worst thing to pick frozen. It never comes out right, and it’s so painfully easy to make from jarred alfredo sauce and a box of pasta that you’ll get better results that way. But whatever, at least Jibri and Miona tried, right?

Mahala agrees.

“Jibri is saying he would not get married to Miona if this 90-day clock wasn’t there, right?” she says to the camera.

“And he’s not ready to get married yet,” Mahala adds.

Jibri’s mother gently but firmly asks if Miona is planning on dressing the way that she does on social media while she’s around the house. This sounds like a controlling question, but it could also just be how production suggested that they start the conversation. Jibri explains to his mom that Instagram photos are not the same thing as everyday garb, which is generally true.

“So, I want him to listen to himself,” Mahala expresses.

She opines: “I think part of what is really keeping him in this decision to get married is concern about the blowback from Miona.”

“That really pains me to say,” Mahala admits.

It’s painful “because I want to be optimistic,” she explains.

“But,” Mahala concludes, “that does not seem like it’s gonna be healthy in a marriage.”

It is difficult to disagree with that, for sure.

Mahala also mentioned another concern of hers during the sneak peek.

She feels that Miona is “controlling” and excessively demanding of Jibri’s attention.

The conversation is in a coffee shop and not at home because of that.
