Over the weekend, fans rejoiced at the news that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had tied the knot in a small, private ceremony in Las Vegas.

It was a wedding 20 years in the making, as the couple first started dating way back in 2002.

They first got engaged in 2003 and postponed their wedding with four days’ notice due to “excessive media attention.”

Ben and Jen parted ways in 2004 and started families with other partners, but they found their way back to one another in April of last year, and late on Saturday night, they finally exchanged vows.

As two of the most famous people on the planet, Ben and Jen are understandably protective of their privacy.

But it seems that the A-listers are so blissfully happy with their new status as man and wife that they were unable to keep their joy to themselves.

Jen first shared the news with fans via her On the JLo newsletter.

Now, this was no big-budget celebrity wedding — in fact, Ben and Jen photographed the nuptials themselves.

But the couple’s blurry wedding selfies contain as much joy as any professional wedding photos we’ve ever seen.

And it seems the afterglow was as sweet as the event itself, as evidenced by this makeup-free pic of the newly-married Mrs. Affleck flaunting her wedding ring in bed the following morning.

And according to Jen’s description of the ceremony, the wedding was every bit as charmingly unadorned as she is in this photo.

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she wrote to fans.

“They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined,” Jen continued.

“One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”

The witnesses Jen spoke of were her twins and Ben’s three kids, all of whom were in attendance — and are reportedly thrilled with their new step-families.

Lopez went on to note that the wedding almost didn’t happen, as she and Ben were late arriving to the chapel.

“They graciously stayed open late a few minutes,” she wrote.

“Let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”

Well, despite the lack of cameo from the King, it sounds like Ben and Jen’s special night was just about perfect.

Interestingly, Jen signed her message to fans “Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”

We’re sure she’ll use that new moniker in her personal life, but don’t expect fans and the media to change how they address JLo.

There are very few downsides to having one of the planet’s most iconic names, but one of them is that you’re pretty much stuck with it for life.

Our sincere congrats go out to the happy couple on their long-delayed nuptials.
