Rocky Top could be in for plenty of smooth seasons to come.

Riding high off their thrilling 52-49 win over Alabama, Volunteers fans may want to smoke ‘em if they got any of ‘em left after incoming freshman QB Nico Iamaleava’s great performance this past weekend.

Per On3, the five-star recruit threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns and one interception in his team’s 49-22 victory. He delivered deep balls such as this one:

He was similarly impressive in the team’s opener, a 50-0 road win. Iamaleava went 12-of-18 for 210 yards and two touchdowns and added 50 yards rushing. Iamaleava launched a deep ball as beautiful as the Hawaiian backdrop where he played.

The Long Beach (Calif.) Warren high school star is making sure the vibes stay immaculate at Tennessee with every highlight-reel throw.

The Volunteers (6-0) may call upon him to lead the team as early as next season. Senior QB Hendon Hooker is in his final season of eligibility. He has been masterful, posting career highs in completion percentage (70 percent) and yards per attempt (10.7) as well as his best touchdown-to-interception ratio (15-to-1).

Hooker’s act this season will be a tough one to follow, but Iamaleava may just be the quarterback to extend the Volunteers’ roll.
