Gallagher taps new space consultant

Gallagher has announced the appointment of Tim Wright as a consultant in its global aerospace practice. In his new role, Wright will be responsible for providing risk management and specialist insurance advice to the company’s international space clients, as well as supporting business development in the sector.

Wright has more than 30 years of experience in space insurance, representing clients as a broker and underwriting space risks for all the major operators, satellite manufacturers and launch vehicle providers. Most recently, he served as chief underwriting officer for space at Nexus Underwriting, which in 2018 acquired Altitude Risk Partners, a business Wright co-founded in 2014. He began his career as a broker with Willis in the late 1980s before joining Johnson and Higgins prior to its purchase by Marsh in 1997. He has also held positions at Aon and Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers.

“I’m thrilled that Tim has joined our aerospace practice,” said Peter Elson, CEO of Gallagher’s aerospace practice. “He brings a deep wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise in the space sector that will enhance our team and client offering. I am looking forward to working with Tim, whose appointment is an example of our continued commitment to providing technical expertise and excellent service to our clients.”
