Running back Cam Akers’ time in Los Angeles could be coming to a close.

The Rams rusher has recently been held out of the lineup after falling out of favor in the rushing rotation, and head coach Sean McVay hasn’t ruled out the idea of him being traded.

While he missed most all of 2021 with an injury, Akers has amassed 779 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground to pair with 151 yards and a score in the air in his three seasons so far.

Only 23, he still has a lot of football ahead of him and could benefit from a change of scenery.

Here are five teams that make sense for Akers.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but the run game could use a little help. Akers could be a great change-of-pace back to pair with Devin Singletary. The Bills could also send RB Zack Moss and a late-round pick back to the Rams if LA would be interested in Moss replacing Akers.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have a full room of running backs, but it makes you wonder what Arthur Smith could do with a running back of Akers’ talent. He’s turned guys like Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley into threats this season, and he could probably make a lot out of Akers’ skillset.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans have Derrick Henry, but they could use more depth behind him for the playoffs. Akers’ ability to catch the ball out of the backfield could be enticing to a Titans team that is struggling to mount a prolific passing attack to match its ground game.

Miami Dolphins

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel knows Akers from his days as a 49ers assistant, and the Dolphins could always use more help in the run game. He’d fit right in with McDaniels’ scheme.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are bad this year, but they also just traded away star rusher Christian McCaffrey. If the team’s win over Tampa Bay Sunday hints at more in the future, having a young, versatile rusher to pair with Chubba Howard couldn’t hurt.
