An 80-year-old Georgia man has been arrested after illegally parking a white van with three guns inside on Capitol Grounds.

Tony Payne, of Tunnel Hill was charged with unlawful activities for bringing two handguns and a shotgun near Capitol Hill — where weapons are forbidden.

Documents obtained by DailyMail.com show he has a fishing and hunting license.

Payne, another man and a woman — who were not named — allegedly told U.S. Capitol Police they were there to drop off documents at the Supreme Court.

The two other passengers with Payne were not arrested. It remains unclear if Payne has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

Capitol Police say they first noticed Payne’s white van parked illegally along the 100 block of East Capitol Street at around 3.45pm Wednesday.

Authorities say Payne admitted to having guns in the vehicle, and was shortly detained with two other passengers as officers with the Hazardous Incident Response Division searched the van and found the two handguns and a shotgun.

They also found a pipe and containers inside the vehicle, prompting officers to do a more thorough sweep before clearing the vehicle. 

But during the search, FOX 5 reports, the Library of Congress had to be evacuated, and officials closed off several roads near Capitol Hill.
