Bam Margera Reported Missing; Jackass Star Fled Rehab Facility in Florida

Frightening news out of Florida today, as Jackass star Bam Margera has been reported missing.

According to TMZ, Margera had been undergoing treatment at an in-patient addiction treatment facility at the time of his disappearance.

Margera’s struggles with substance abuse have been well-documented over the past few years.

But sources close to the troubled 42-year-old say that he’s been committed to getting clean in recent months.

Insiders say Margera complained about the treatment that he was receiving from staff before fleeing the facility in a black sedan on Monday night.

Bam’s rehab was court-appointed, and staff were reportedly concerned that he was breaking the law by leaving.

He assured them that he would be immediately relocating to a new facility.

However, more than 36 hours after he disappeared, Del Ray Beach police have not been able to locate Margera.

Margera was arrested for DUI in 2018, and his legal troubles have been persistent ever since.

If authorities determine that he fled rehab without cause and did not check in elsewhere, Margera could be facing jail time.

In April, Bam sued his former Jackass co-stars for wrongful termination in response to being let go from the troupe’s latest movie.

Johnny Knoxville and company have alleged that it was unsafe to have Bam on set as a result of his ongoing issues with drugs and alcohol.

But while news of Bam fleeing rehab is certainly disturbing, it seems that there’s currently no reason to fear for his immediate safety.

On Tuesday, Margera posted the above photo with a man whom he identified as his news sponsor.

“MMA fighter, chiropractor and ten years sober Dominick, is my new AA sponsor,” Margera captioned the pic.

Shortly thereafter, Bam shared a selfie in which he could be seen posing alongside his wife and Machine Gun Kelly.

Somewhat ironically, MGK did appear in the most recent Jackass movie.

So while the photo with his sponsor suggests that Bam is committed to remaining sober, the other pic seems to indicate that he has not checked into a new treatment facility as promised.

Margera recently broke his arm while skateboarding, and he reportedly complained that the Del Rey facility was ill-equipped to treat his lingering pain.

Bam Margera Revealed Childhood Trauma

“Healing does not mean the damage never existed,” Bam wrote on Instagram in reference to a recent visit to the doctor’s.

“It means the damage no longer controls our lives.”

Those words undoubtedly apply both to the many physical injuries Margera has suffered over the course of his career and the emotional pain that he’s endured in recent years.

Margera remains married to wife Nicole Boyd, but in a move that might be indicative of the extent of Bam’s troubles, she recently filed for sole custody of their 4-year-old son.

We hope that wherever he is, Bam is able to receive the type of treatment that he needs and remain in compliance with the terms of his probation.

We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
