Just a few short years ago, Armie Hammer was considered one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.

But one cannibalism scandal and a few sexual assault allegations later, Hammer has fallen from grace with alarming speed.

As we reported earlier this month, Hammer is working at a resort in the Cayman Islands to make ends meet.

The story first went public thanks to reports from American tourists, who were shocked to find that the Lone Ranger himself was trying to sell them timeshares during their vacation.

A lawyer for Hammer denied that his formerly wealthy client has been reduced to such desperate circumstances.

After all, it’s not uncommon for actors to leave Hollywood in order to open a restaurant of pursue some other passion.

But it’s not every day that someone leaves the industry to annoy vacationers with high-pressure sales tactics.

Armie Hammer Seems Normal

So what exactly is going on here?

Well, to put it bluntly, Hammer is broke.

A source close to the situation tells Variety that Hammer “is working at a cubicle” adding:

“The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”

Hammer’s wife, Elizabeth Chambers, filed for divorce shortly after it was revealed that Armie had been cheating on her with multiple partners and engaging in all sorts of illicit substance abuse.

After Hammer was accused of sexual assault, she filed a petition requesting sole custody of the couple’s two children.

Insiders say Hammer and Chambers have since worked out a more amicable relationship that allows him visits with his children.

It’s not clear when and where those visits take place, as Hammer has been living on the island of Grand Cayman since the start of the pandemic.

And it appears that the actor will continue to reside in the West Caribbean, where he reportedly puts in full-time hours selling travel packages to guests of the hotel where he’s been living since 2020.

We suppose there are worse ways to make a living, but Armie’s current situation is a far cry from his previous life, where he earned eight figures starring in Hollywood blockbusters.

One witness tells TMZ that they witnessed Armie giving a couple the hard sell, explaining to them that a deal that would only cost them $2,020 per week is a hell of a bargain.

That’s only $21,000 for 10 years of vacations, Armie excitedly explained at one point.

Yes, if you’ve stayed at a resort where one sad soul is tasked with timeshares and other travel “deals,” then you know it’s not exactly an enviable gig.

But Hammer is likely facing a slew of lawsuits and he might soon be on the hook for criminal assault charges.

Even if he emerges victorious in court, the upcoming legal battles will likely cost Hammer a pretty penny in terms of defense fees.

Add that to his pending divorce from Chambers, which will probably result in some sky-high child support and alimony fees, and it’s not to see how Hollywood heartthrob to Cayman Islands office drone.
