The twists and turns of Season 9, Episode 10 of 90 Day Fiance gave viewers a lot to process.
The Other Way alums Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre actually had a positive turn of events.
Fresh from some jealousy drama, Bini participated in his first real MMA match — and won!
But there was a familiar face in the audience who was not on this season: Angela Deem.
Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre have come a long way.
First, Biniyam was working various odd jobs in Ethiopia, including dancing for an audience, while Ari was pregnant.
While it’s unclear what sort of income he was making, he clearly loved being an entertainer.
At times, he would be gone for hours or even days without explanation, out of contact with his fiancee.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Suddenly, Biniyam was out of work.
He still spent hours and days away from home to work on “music” with his friends.
Plenty more happened, including some allegations of cheating (familiar for Biniyam, whose exes have said the same).
This could have brought about the end of their relationship, but they made a dramatic move to save their family.
Ari and Bini are now in the United States.
It looks like they made their journey, the one being documented on Season 9, about one year ago, early in the summer of 2021.
We have been watching it all play out on screen.
Episode 10 showed Biniyam living out his apparent dream — becoming an MMA fighter.
He has been training for much of this season.
It’s possible that Bini spoke about his alleged MMA goals back in Ethiopia, only to have them edited out in past seasons.
As viewers saw, Ariela was there with her mother, Janice (whose new dye job looks great!).
Ari’s father disapproves of this violent, dangerous sport, and stayed home to watch little Avi.
Janice and Ariela watched as Biniyam scored a swift victory over his opponent.
Other people were watching, too.
In addition to the production team and the regular audience, there was also one familiar face.
One of the most controversial 90 Day Fiance villains in franchise history was cheering Bini on, too.
Were you one of the viewers who spotted an ill-behaved grandmother on screen?
You weren’t hallucinating. That was Angela Deem herself.
In fact, the MMA venue itself posted about Angela’s attendance late last summer.
Angela Deem has done many shocking things over the years.
Her constant verbal abuse towards her on-again, off-again husband, Michael Ilesanmi, is a big one.
It was not so long ago that Angela flashed the camera during a Tell All, showcasing her breasts after surgery.
Angela appearing at Biniyam’s fight is less surprising, however.
She has spent years inserting herself in events involving other cast members.
In fact, being buddy-buddy with Angela has hurt some people’s brands.
Perhaps Ariela and Biniyam welcomed Angela with open arms.
The show could have suggested it as a stunt, trying to get a reaction.
If so, it worked. Angela is a polarizing figure.
